Palestinian painter displays art in UN headquarters


Ibrahim Shalaby is the first Palestinian ever to have been invited to display his paintings in the United Nation headquarters in New York. The exhibition began from Nov the 29th, 2011 until the January the 13th, 2012. The statistics of the United Nations showed that about 70.000 visitors came within 46 days. 


Shalaby received many invitations to show the artwork in different cities. The exhibition is scheduled to be on display in March, April, and May in Houston (Texas), Durham (North Carolina) and in Dubai.


The title of this exhibition is  "Save Jerusalem’ and consist of twenty-five oil on canvas paintings that represent the heritage, folklore, architecture of  the City of Jerusalem.
