Palestinian civil society appeal to Dutch government: end relations with companies profiting from occupation


gilo-olive-tree-klein.jpgThe  largest coalition of Palestinian civil society unions, parties and organisations calls on the Dutch government to be consistent with its stated position opposing the Israeli occupation and illegal settlements by ending all relations with companies – Dutch, Israeli or other – that are involved in this occupation and particularly in settlements. The Palestinian BDS National Committee (BNC) makes this appeal shorty before the visit of Dutch foreign minister Frans Timmermans to the region.

Dr. Ashrawi: Dutch government must exclude settlement companies from the Netherlands-Israel Cooperation Forum


Hanan AshrawiPLO Executive Committee member Dr. Hanan Ashrawi urges the Dutch government to exclude settlement companies from the Netherlands-Israel Cooperation Forum, which will be launched next weekend. According to Dutch and Israeli media reports several firms located in settlements or in other ways linked to Israel’s illegal settlement policy will be taking part in the Netherlands-Israel Cooperation Forum.

Israeli wastewater treatment plant to benefit illegal settlements


al-haq-logo-160.pngAs a Palestinian organisation committed to the promotion and protection of human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT), Al-Haq is gravely concerned by the Israeli authorities’ plans to build a municipal wastewater treatment plant in Wadi al-Nar (Kidron Valley), in occupied East Jerusalem. This wastewater treatment plant will treat wastewater originating from households in East Jerusalem, including settlements. The wastewater will undergo initial, partial treatment in a facility run by the settlement organisation the Jordan Valley Water Association. The partially treated wastewater will subsequently be used for irrigation in settlements in the Jordan Valley and northern Dead Sea area.  The project may receive support from Dutch actors



Dr. Ashrawi calls on Royal HaskoningDHV to end involvement in illegal project in East Jerusalem


Hanan AshrawiPLO Executive Committee member and member of the Advisory Committee of Palestine Link, Dr. Hanan Ashrawi calls upon the Dutch engineering firm, Royal HaskoningDHV, to quickly end its involvement in the development of an illegal Israeli project in occupied East Jerusalem, framed by some members of the Dutch parliament as a project that serves Palestinian interests.
